I moved from Maine to North Carolina in 2019, and that December, I attended my very first NC SHAPE Conference. Then COVID hit—but that didn’t stop me. I haven’t missed a conference since!

In 2022, I joined both the Conference Committee and the Awards Committee, and in December 2024, I stepped into the role of Vice President.

Today, I’m honored to work alongside an incredible team of passionate professionals—people who are dedicated to advocating for our field and providing the highest-quality professional development possible.

NC SHAPE is more than just a professional organization—it’s a community. Through its conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities, NC SHAPE connects health and PE educators from across the state, inspires innovative teaching, and amplifies the voice of our profession.
